Revanesse

Revanesse is a range of FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers that can be used to smooth wrinkles, add volume to the face, and treat most facial areas. It is known for its long-lasting results, which can last up to 18 months, making it a popular choice for patients who want to avoid frequent touch-ups. However, the duration of the results may vary depending on individual factors such as metabolism lifestyle, and the treatment area. For instance, areas with more dynamic movement, such as the lips, may experience slightly shorter-lasting results.

Side Effects

Revanesse may cause temporary side effects akin to those of other injectable treatments. Common side effects include bruising, redness, swelling, pain, and itching.

Side effects typically arise soon after the injection and dissipate within a fortnight. Refraining from vigorous exercise for 24 to 48 hours post-treatment is also advisable, since increased blood pressure and heart rate may exacerbate swelling or bruising.

Less common, but possible, side effects include:

  • Acne-like skin eruptions

  • Skin sensitivity, such as rash, itching, or tenderness

  • Skin infection

  • Damage to nerves or blood vessels

  • Skin lumpiness

  • Scarring

  • Skin necrosis

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Reactivation of herpes infection, such as blisters or skin sore

Duration of Results

The duration of Revanesse dermal fillers typically ranges from 6 to 12 months; however, the longevity of the results is influenced by various factors such as metabolism, lifestyle, and the specific area treated.

  • Treatment area: For example, lip treatments may only last about 6 months due to higher blood flow. Fillers used in the nasolabial area may not last very long.

  • Individual characteristics: These include skin, lifestyle, age, metabolism, and activity level.

Regular follow-up treatments can help maintain results.

Why Revanesse Over Other HA Fillers?

Revanesse offers a range of dermal fillers crafted to deliver versatile and natural-looking enhancements with minimal discomfort and swelling. These fillers contain hyaluronic acid, which is naturally present in the skin and believed to decelerate the aging process. Additionally, Revanesse fillers do not contain any animal-derived components.

Revanesse® stands out as one of the rapidly expanding dermal filler brands in the US, thanks to its distinctive formulation. Crafted in limited quantities to ensure exceptional quality control within a cutting-edge facility, it offers adaptable solutions tailored to individual preferences—enabling you to achieve your desired appearance. Engineered to minimize discomfort, swelling, and recovery time, Revanesse® is gaining acclaim across the US, Canada, and the UK. Its ability to deliver a natural appearance has swiftly made it a sought-after choice among both patients and practitioners.

Revanesse fillers stand out due to their distinctive manufacturing process that employs a proprietary method to produce spherical hyaluronic acid particles. These spherical particles are believed to offer superior distribution, resulting in smoother outcomes, enhanced volume, and diminished wrinkles. Additionally, Revanesse fillers are produced in limited quantities, ensuring stringent quality control within a cutting-edge facility.

Hylenex
(Filler Dissolver)

hylenex filler dissolver

Hylenex, an FDA-approved injectable solution, is designed to counteract the effects of hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. This treatment utilizes hyaluronidase, an enzyme that targets and disassembles the hyaluronic acid within the fillers. This process enables the body to absorb and eliminate the filler material safely. As a synthetic variant of a naturally occurring enzyme in the human body, Hylenex has been employed in various medical applications well before its use with fillers. For nearly two decades, it has been a go-to option for healthcare providers to reverse the effects of HA fillers.

How Long Does It Take?

Hyaluronidase typically has an immediate effect; however, individual body chemistry varies, so the rate at which results are noticed can differ.

Different brands of hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers may break down at varying rates. Additionally, the quantity of filler you wish to have dissolved is a contributing factor. Multiple sessions may be necessary to attain the desired outcome.

Results are often observable within a few days for many individuals.

It's important to remember that post-procedure, your lips may seem temporarily fuller. This is usually due to mild swelling caused by the injections, coupled with the added volume from the dissolving agent.

Why Dissolve?

Product Migration

At times, injectors may encounter a loss of control due to the unique anatomy and function of a patient's tissues, which significantly influence where and how a filler settles. Trained injectors are aware of the areas to avoid due to potential migration issues, but individual anatomical diversity remains a challenge. Fillers naturally gravitate towards areas of least resistance, finding places to settle comfortably. Tissues with more laxity or "pockets" provide less support for fillers, leading to displacement. Moreover, fillers remain soft and malleable for the first 48 hours post-treatment, allowing for possible compression and movement, especially in areas of strong muscular activity or significant post-treatment swelling.uct.

Lumps & Bumps

This phenomenon has a similar origin to the concepts previously discussed. Lumps and bumps are most commonly observed in the tear trough and lips. The tear trough is particularly prone due to its thin, delicate skin and unique, complex anatomy. The lips vary due to the high muscular activity in the area and individual tissue differences. In other facial regions like the chin, cheekbone, or nose, we aim to create small elevations, known as boluses, to lift the tissue and add structure. While ensuring these are smooth and uniform, it's crucial not to over-manipulate them, which could diminish the intended lifting or volumizing effect of the dermal filler injection.

Emergency Reversal

Hyaluronic acid fillers are deemed safer compared to others in the market due to the availability of Hyaluronidase, an antidote that can reverse their effects. In emergency situations where filler is accidentally injected into a blood vessel, it can cause a blockage, stopping blood flow and oxygen diffusion to tissues, leading to tissue necrosis. As skilled injectors, we recognize the signs of a blockage and will immediately reverse it if detected. Sometimes, a vessel may not be fully blocked, or the signs may not be immediately apparent. In such instances, we inform our patients during the consultation about what symptoms to watch for and conduct a safety check within 24-48 hours after treatment. Should a patient exhibit signs of a blockage, we urge an immediate return to the clinic for assessment. If a blockage is confirmed, we initiate the dissolving process, which may require multiple sessions to restore blood flow and circulation to the affected vessels and tissues.

Dissolving Previous Filler Before Adding More is Recommended to:

  • Reverse overfilled or overcorrected areas.

  • Fix asymmetry or irregularities.

  • Allow tissues to recover from any bruising and swelling.

*It is generally recommended to wait a minimum of two weeks between the dissolution of filler and the addition of more filler.
